A Magistrate Court in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, on Tuesday acquitted popular musician Abdulazeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, of any involvement in the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also called Mohbad.
Delivering the ruling, Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje, relying on legal advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), declared that Naira Marley had no case to answer.
Also discharged were music promoter Samson Balogun (Sam Larry), Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.
However, the DPP confirmed that auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe and Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sadiq, will face prosecution for reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
The duo is set to be tried at the Magistrate Court.
