2024 IWD: Yemi Oshe Foundation Extols Women’s Virtues

Extolling the virtues of women, Mr. Omotoyinbo in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, the capital city of Ekiti State on Friday by his Media Director, Mr. Akinluyi Oluwaseyi  a k..a Omo Akin, described women as the backbone of families and communities. Noting that they provide care, support and nurturing to their families.

Adding that they are essential to the development of children. “Women also play a significant role in community building and often take on leadership roles in community organizations”. The statement reads 

The Philanthropist noted that the dayoffers a chance to recognise and applaud the social, economic, cultural, and political accomplishments of women worldwide, saying it serves as a reminder of the ongoing work to dismantle systemic barriers and discrimination against women.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality. 

Marked annually on March 8th, the IWD 2024 campaign theme is inspire inclusion.

When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world and when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment”. Omotoyinbo remarked.
