Aide: How Toluwanisings Was Taken to 8 Hospitals After Slumping

The personal assistant, Babadunni Olayemi, said some hospitals reportedly cited the unavailability of doctors because of an ongoing strike, while others did not admit the singer.

Toluwanisings died on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. His death was confirmed by his family, who described him as a beloved husband, family member and gospel minister.

Speaking about the incident on Thursday, Babadunni said he was not present when the singer slumped in the morning but rushed to the scene after receiving a phone call.

“I am Babadunni Gbolabo. I am the PA to Toluwanisings. When it happened in the morning, I wasn’t here, so they called me and I came,” he said.

According to him, the singer had appeared healthy before the incident. He said people at the scene tried to revive him before taking him to different hospitals for medical attention.

“There was nothing wrong with him. He was very fine and in perfect condition. He just slumped. They tried to resuscitate him. They went helter-skelter. They took him to some hospitals, but they were giving excuses,” Babadunni said.

He alleged that some hospitals said doctors were unavailable because of the strike, while others refused to admit the singer.

“Some said doctors were not working because of the strike. Some did not admit him at all. That is how it went. We tried our best, including prayers. We took him to up to seven to eight hospitals in Ibadan, but God said his time was up,” he added.

Family to Decide on Funeral Arrangements

Babadunni said the singer’s body had been deposited at a mortuary and that the family would determine the next steps after meeting and consulting.

He said family members were still coming together to discuss the situation and make the necessary decisions.

“The family members are here. So, we are all just managing the situation, as the body is currently at the mortuary. Once the family members hold their meeting and are clear on things, that is when we will know the next step to take,” he said.

The personal assistant added that the family would communicate its decisions after the consultations.
