Oye-Ekiti Leaders Urge Gov. Oyebanji To Rehabilitate Abandoned Road

The community made the appeal on Monday in a statement jointly signed by the Obalodo of Oye Kingdom, Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo and other leaders including , Mr Femi Babalola, Mr Sunday Dada and Mrs Yemisi Bamidele in Oye-Ekiti.

They explained that the road has been abandoned for 10 years due to the damaged culvert at the entrance of the road leading to the community.

The community leaders said farmers, students and local government workers have been experiencing difficulties accessing the road which had been neglected by past administrations.

They commended the state governor, Mr Oyebanji for the construction of the damaged culvert which has enhanced vehicular movement.

The statement reads in part : “The Chiefs and Leaders of Ilodo Community, Oye Ekiti thank Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the construction of the box culvert at the entrance road of Ilodo community.

“The farmers, students, local government workers among other residents making use of the road have been experiencing difficulties in the last 10 years due to the neglect of the damaged culvert by the past administrations.

“Like Oliver Twists, we are appealing to governor Oyebanji to assist us to construct 8km road which leads to Oye Local Government Area, Council Library, INEC office, Oye Egbo High School, Crawford University, Oye-Ekiti and Ire- Ekiti.

“We are all in support of your second term ambition and we are convinced that you will take Ekiti to an enviable position due to the numerous achievements that your administration has recorded in all sectors.
