The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested six suspects linked to kidnapping and illegal arms dealings during various operations across the state.
Command spokesperson Mansir Hassan confirmed the arrests in a statement, noting the suspects were apprehended in Tafa (Kagarko LGA), Saminaka (Lere LGA), and Ikara LGA.
Key Arrests:
Isa Ibrahim, 30, was arrested in Gida Abe on April 17. He confessed to being part of a Kwara-based kidnap gang and had relocated to Kaduna to form a new group after his accomplices were captured.
Sani Liman and Murtala Magaji were arrested the same day in Lamido village, Lere LGA. Both confessed to involvement in multiple kidnappings.
On April 18, two suspected gunrunners—Bajo (Jos) and Magaji Abdullahi (Kano)—were caught in Ikara LGA with two locally-made AK-47 rifles.
Another gunrunner was nabbed during a routine patrol along Kauru-Pambegua Road, with rifles hidden inside a sack.
According to the police, all suspects are in custody and cooperating with investigations. Police say efforts are ongoing to capture other accomplices still at large.
