Atiku Abubakar Joins ADC, Registers in Adamawa

Atiku had in July resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which has been battling a prolonged internal crisis.

His formal entry into the ADC comes days after former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, also announced his registration and membership validation on November 19. Aregbesola said he completed his “symbolic registration” at Ward 8, Unit 1, Ifofin, in Ilesa East Local Government Area of Osun State, urging existing members to validate their membership and encouraging new entrants to join.

In an announcement on Monday, Atiku shared a photo on his official X handle showing himself holding his ADC membership card, with the caption: “It’s official.”

Atiku had earlier led the adoption of the ADC as a coalition platform for opposition figures seeking to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
