WhatsApp Introduces Multi-Account Support for iPhone Users

According to Gulfnews, iPhone users can now add up to two WhatsApp accounts on the same device. Each account operates independently with separate chats, notifications, privacy controls and profile settings. Users can switch between accounts through a new “Account List” option in the Settings menu.

The feature is currently available to beta testers on iOS version 25.34.10.72 and later. Android users have had similar multi-account support since 2023.

The update offers convenience for people who manage personal and work numbers, removing the need to carry two phones or rely on the WhatsApp Business app. Notifications are clearly labelled to show which account a message belongs to, while switching into protected accounts requires Face ID or Touch ID.

Analysts say the move reflects changing user behaviour, with more individuals juggling multiple roles or identities on a single device. It also places WhatsApp closer to competing messaging platforms that already support multiple profiles.

Although WhatsApp has not announced a public rollout date, early-access users in some regions have started receiving the feature. Broader availability is expected in the coming weeks as the company expands tools for flexibility across accounts, linked devices and privacy settings.
