Fresh clarification has come from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command over reports claiming that a military officer, Lieutenant AM Yarima, was trailed by unknown persons in unmarked vehicles in Kubwa on Sunday evening.
Initial accounts from military sources had suggested that two unregistered Hilux vans followed the officer from the NIPCO filling station along the Kubwa expressway down to Gado Nasco Road, prompting him to take evasive action.

Responding to the circulating narrative, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that the Command had not received any report indicating an assassination attempt on Lieutenant Ahmed Yarima.
According to her, there is no record of such an incident within the Federal Capital Territory, contrary to claims making the rounds on social media.
She urged the public to disregard the report, warning that unverified information could generate needless panic among residents.
For the security of the territory, the Command encouraged residents to stay alert and promptly report suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police division.
