The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, has disclosed various achievements that the Command under his watch has been able to record within the last three months that he has taken charge the leadership of the Command.
The CP made this known on Thursday while playing host to journalists in his office in Ado-Ekiti, the State Capital.
The Highlights:
ARREST OF SUSPECTED MURDER: Based on report from Alhaji Yusuf Abdul ‘m’ of No. 9 Atikankan Area of Ado-Ekiti, that one of his boys named Useni Yau ‘m’ was seriously beaten at Atikankan Area by one Ibrahim Aliu ‘m’ of same address over a missing phone on 28/01/2025. The victim was later rushed to Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital Ado Ekiti for medical attention where he was later confirmed dead by the Doctor. The suspect was arrested, he confessed to the alleged crime and thereafter charged to court on 11/02/2025.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED MURDER: Based on report from Moses Toyin ‘f’ of No. 101, Odo Emure Street, Emure-Ekiti, that her husband Moses Joseph ‘m’ instructed her children namely: Moses Faith ‘f’ and Moses Testimony ‘m’ to go to his farm along Oke Seri road, Emure Ekiti on 9/02/2025.
Suddenly, Moses Testimony ‘m’ ran back home and informed her that his sister Moses Faith ‘f’ had been murdered in the farm by Mohammed Jamiu ‘m’ and Alaba Bashiru ‘m’. The suspects were arrested, identified by the witness, circumstantial evidence revealed that the suspects were connected with the case. They were thereafter charged to court on 18/02/2025.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED MURDER: On 25/03/2025, a case of murder was reported by one David Lorjaal ‘m’ at Isan Divisional Police Headquarters, Isan-Ekiti against Victor Lorjaal ‘m’ of Aba Ile Itaji Ekiti, the complainant stated that while he was in the farm, he heard shout of Veronica Lorjaal ‘f’ and Brenda Lorjaal ‘f’. He said he ran to the place and discovered they have been murdered by the suspect. The case was thereafter charged to court on 28/03/2025.
ARREST OF FRAUDSTERS/ILLEGAL AND UNLAWFUL OPERATORS OF KWARA STATE UNIVERSITY, MALETE ILORIN STUDY CENTRE : Based On credible intelligent report received on 18/02/2025 by the detectives of this department that some syndicate are illegally and unlawfully operating Kwara State university study center in Ado-Ekiti, where several Bachelor and Master degrees were issued to unsuspecting member the public, two (2) suspects were arrested namely:- Adesanmi Sunday ‘m’ and Akinola Olugbenga Olaolu in connection to the crime. They both conspired to defraud some students and issued fake certificates. The university authority were consulted and they denied any connection with the center and the operator. The suspects have been charged to court on 11/04/2025.
STOLEN AND RECOVERED VEHICLE: Based on a complaint via petition on 20/01/2025 by one Otunba Fatunsin ‘m’ of Ilomu Ekiti against one Taiwo John ‘m’ of Ilomu Ekiti, that the suspect removed the vehicle where it was parked at the aforementioned address to unknown destination. The Anti-Vehicle Theft Section of this department recovered the vehicle at Ibadan, Oyo State and arrested the suspect on 22/01/2025. He confessed to the crime.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPIST: On 28/1/2025, a case of rape was reported by Bamidele Sesan ‘m’ of Oye-Ekiti on behalf of the victim, one Bamidele Precious ‘f’, 5yrs old against one Oladunjoye Damilola ‘m’ 30yrs old. Case transferred to State C.I.D from Oye Police division. The suspect lured the victim to his room and had carnal knowledge of her. The case has been charged to court.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPIST: On 02/02/2025, a case of defilement was reported by one Saka Salamotu ’f’ of Ikere-Ekiti, on behalf of the victim Saka Mariam ‘f’ 9yrs old, against one Jonathan Seun ‘m’ 17yrs old. The case was transferred from Ilupeju division to State C.I.D, Ado-Ekiti. The victim was lured by the suspect to his room where she was sexually assaulted. The case has been charged to court.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPIST: On 15/02/2025, a case of defilement was reported by one Abioye Olamiotan ‘f’ of Ado-Ekiti, on behalf of the victim Abioye Anuoluwa ‘f’ 4yrs old, against Daniel Ademola ‘m’ 15yrs old of Ado-Ekiti. The case was transferred from Okeila Division to State C.I.D, Ado-Ekiti. The victim was lured by the suspect to an isolated place at Okeila area and took advantage of her. The suspect confessed to the alleged crime and was subsequently charged to court.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPIST: Based on petition received from Ekiti Sexual Assault referral Centre, Ado-Ekiti, on behalf of the victim Babalola Olawuyi ’15yrs old, against one Iletoogu Peter ‘m’ 35yrs old. The victim who is a younger sister to the suspect, lured her and sexually assaulted her. The suspect had been charged to court.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPIST: On 27/02/2025, a case of defilement was reported by one Egunjobi Kemi ‘f’ of Ikere-Ekiti, on behalf of the victim Egunjobi Aanu ‘f’ 15yrs old, against one Ariyo Ademola ‘m’ 31yrs old. The case was transferred from Ilupeju Division to State C.I.D, Ado-Ekiti. The victim was lured by the suspect to his room where she was sexually assaulted. The case has been charged to court.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPIST: On 04/03/2025, a case of rape was reported by the victim Oladele Tomisin ‘f’ 25yrs old of Ado-Ekiti, against the suspect Akindolu Tosin ‘m’ 32yrs old of Ifaki Ekiti. The case was transferred from Ido Division to State CID, Ado-Ekiti. The victim who happened to be the junior sister to the suspect’s girlfriend was lured to the hotel room at Ifaki Ekiti where he forcefully had canal knowledge of her, suspect confessed to the alleged crime and was charged to court.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPIST: On 06/03/2025, a case of rape was reported by the victim Adebiyi Wumi ‘f’ 15yrs old of Ado-Ekiti, against the suspect Olujobi Taiwo ‘m’ 19yrs old. The case was transferred from Ado Central Division to State CID, Ado-Ekiti. The suspect lured the victim to his house at Okeoriomi Area Ado-Ekiti where he had canal knowledge of her. On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the alleged crime and was later charged to court.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPISTS: On 13/03/2025, a case of Conspiracy and rape was reported by the victim, Olatunde Mercy ‘f’ 15yrs old of Ido-Ekiti, against the suspects Michael Omoyajowo ‘m’ 19yrs old, and Ajepe Olamilekan ‘m’ 17yrs, both of Ido Ekiti. The case was transferred from Ido Division to State CID, Ado-Ekiti. The victim and suspects were students of the same secondary school, where they lured the victim to the house of the first suspect and had canal knowledge of her, suspects confessed to the alleged crime and were later charged to court.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED CHILD ABUSE: On 23/03/2025, a case of Child Abuse was referred to State CID from Magistrate Court 4, Ado-Ekiti on behalf of the victim Gabriel Benitta ‘f’ 9yrs old, against the suspect Amaka Nwaogalanya ‘f’ 35yrs of behind Ologede Division Ado-Ekiti. The suspect was alleged to have beaten the victim and broke his arm, she was arrested, on interrogation, she confessed to the alleged crime and she was charged to court.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED CHILD ABUSE: On 02/04/2025, a case of child Abuse was reported by Onipede Eunice ‘f’ of Ire-Ekiti, on behalf of the victim Owolabi Tomiwa ‘f’ 9yrs old of Ire Ekiti, against Okedunoya Owolabi ‘m’ 42yrs old of Ire Ekiti. The case was transferred from Ilupeju Division to State CID, Ado-Ekiti. The suspect who happened to be the biological father of the victim beat him up and inflicted injuries all over his body, the video went viral on social media. On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and was charged to court.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPIST: On 02/04/2025, a case of rape was reported by the victim Samuel Favour ‘f’ 20yrs old of Iworoko-Ekiti, against the suspect Ojoogun Ayokanmi ‘m’ 34yrs old. The case was transferred from Iworoko Division to State CID, Ado-Ekiti. The victim happened to be the employee of the suspect in his poultry farm, where he lured her to his office within his farm and had canal knowledge of her. On interrogation the suspect confessed to the alleged crime, but claimed to be consensual sex and was charged to court.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPIST: On 05/04/2025, a case of defilement was reported by Ayodele Modupe ‘f’ of Igede-Ekiti, on behalf of the victim Adedokun Halimat ‘f’ 8yrs old, against the suspect Solomon Ayodele ‘m’ 55yrs old of Igede-Ekiti. The case was transferred from Igede Division to State CID, Ado-Ekiti. The suspect lured the victim to his house at Igede Ekiti where he sexually abused the victim. The suspect denied the alleged crime and was later charged to court.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPIST: On 15/04/2025, a case of defilement was referred from RRS Ado-Ekiti to State CID. The complainant Ali Rasheedat ‘f’ 70yrs old of Omisanjana Ado-Ekiti, complained on behalf of the victim Balogun Musheedat Adesewa ‘f’ 3yrs old, against the suspect Ayomide Julius ‘m’ 17yrs old. The victim alleged that the suspect fingered her private part in the toilet. On interrogation the suspect confessed to the crime and will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is completed.
ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPIST: On 15/04/2025, a case of rape was reported by the victim Ojufun Precious ‘f’ 18yrs old of Ikere -Ekiti, against the suspect Bejide Oluwafemi ‘m’ 27yrs old of Ikere Ekiti. The case was transferred from Area Commander’s Office Ikere Ekiti. Both victim and the suspect were students of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI). The suspect lured the victim to his house at Ikere Ekiti and forcefully had canal knowledge of her. On interrogation, he confessed to the alleged crime. The suspect will be charged as soon as the investigation is completed. The CP explained.
