Tinubu’s 2023 Campaign: MC Oluomo Finally Breaks Silence on Owing Nollywood Actors

Akinsanya described the allegations as false, saying he personally sponsored the campaign with his own funds and did not owe any of the entertainers.

Recently, some Yoruba movie stars including Fatai Adetayo (popularly known as Lalude), Ronke Oshodi-Oke, and Ganiu Nafiu (Alapini) accused the NURTW boss of failing to honour financial promises allegedly made to them during the campaign for Tinubu and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Speaking in a podcast interview titled Beyond the Fame, Lalude alleged that MC Oluomo had promised to pay the group ₦1.5 million each after several weeks of campaign work but never fulfilled the promise. He also claimed the actors received ₦10,000 daily for feeding, which was later stopped before the campaign ended.

Reacting to the claims, MC Oluomo said he had no reason to cheat anyone, stressing that he spent millions of naira to ensure the comfort of the actors during the campaign.

“I saw all the videos they released, but I didn’t reply because I know what I did,” he said in an interview with broadcaster Kola Olootu, which was shared on YouTube on Friday. “Nobody gave me a dime for Tinubu’s campaign. I used my personal money because Asiwaju Tinubu is next to God and my mother in my life.”

He revealed that he booked 140 hotel rooms for the actors at ₦45,000 per room daily and gave them money throughout the two to three months they spent in the hotel. “If truly they were not paid or treated well, why didn’t they leave after ten days?” he asked.

MC Oluomo also recounted that the actors threw him a surprise birthday party during the campaign, showing that they were on good terms then. He maintained that he remains loyal to President Tinubu and is already prepared to support him again in the 2027 election.

“I’m not discouraged by their allegations. I used my own money in 2023, and I will still do it again in 2027 because my loyalty is to Tinubu,” he said.
