Tinubu Extends Surveyor-General Tenure by Two Years

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the extension was necessitated by the recent transfer of the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation (OSGOF) to the Presidency.

Onanuga said Adebomehin had initiated key reforms across national geospatial and mapping systems, which the President is determined to see completed.

“President Tinubu expects Adebomehin to consolidate the ongoing reforms within the next two years, focusing on national land management, highway and abutting land coordination, reclamation and erosion control, and other strategic infrastructure priorities,” the statement read.

Adebomehin was first appointed Surveyor-General of the Federation by former President Muhammadu Buhari on January 5, 2022.
