Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has appointed Hon. Benibo Anabraba as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Monday in Port Harcourt by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Dr. Honour Kuru Sirawoo.
According to the statement, the new SSG will be sworn in by 4 p.m. at the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt.
Hon. Anabraba, a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly representing Akuku-Toru Constituency II, had earlier served as Commissioner for Housing in the Fubara administration.
He was among commissioners sworn in by Governor Fubara in October 2024, but his appointment was later invalidated by the Supreme Court, which ruled that he was not screened by a legally recognised House of Assembly.
