Engr. Kayode Ojo Tasks Ekiti APC Leadership To Be Neutral Umpire

By Ayodele Abere

Engr. Ojo gave the admonition on Thursday while addressing newsmen at the Party Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital, where he went to formally declare his intention to contest for the number one seat without any of the party exco around to receive him.

The aspirant who said the incumbent might have tried to manipulate them by instructing that he doesn’t want them received, however, described the crowd that came out to receive him as very organic and aesthetic saying he’s very happy and elated about it.

According to Engr. Kayode Ojo, the important thing is that we are loved by the real people and the people are the ones that would vote, the party exco are just to administer. So what is important is the vote. Ojo explained.

In his word, “I see that it’s a confirmation of the fact that our people want change in our party APC, and they want it now. They love the party and they do not want to take the risk of us going to the next election precariously.

“That’s why they want the change within the party now so that we can move forward and claim the 2026 election, then eventually win the 2027 election for our baba, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu “.

Contrary to what some people have been saying that the aspirant has not been on ground in Ekiti, he further explained that the fact actually spoke for itself noting that the people all came on their own to receive him despite the fact that the roads were blocked against them earlier in the day.

“They set up different road blocks against our people. But the people still came out. If they didn’t put the road blocks, the crowd would have been probably five or ten times of what we saw”. Said he.

Noting that every politics is local, Ojo therefore urged the party members to go back to their wards to do the jobs they need to do.
