Afrobeat star, Tiwa Savage, has opened up about a past relationship with a Nigerian celebrity which she described as “disrespectful,” saying the romance was deliberately kept secret despite their public status.
Speaking on Joe Budden’s podcast, the singer recalled how her former lover insisted that they should not go public with their relationship and often flirted with other women in her presence.
“I am a public figure and he is as well. He said he doesn’t want us to go public, I said cool. And he said when we go out, I might be talking to other people but I’m just doing it so that people don’t suspect,” she said.
Savage narrated how the unnamed celebrity would laugh, talk, and even touch other ladies at events while secretly assuring her it was nothing. “It was happening right in front of me and I couldn’t say anything. It’s a disrespect,” she added.
Although Tiwa Savage declined to mention the celebrity’s name, her remarks have stirred reactions online, with many netizens speculating that she was referring to fellow Afrobeat star, Wizkid.
