The immediate past Commissioner for Youth Development in Ekiti State, Hon. Gold Adesola Adedayo, has boasted that Governor Biodun Oyebanji is in a good stead to triumph in the October 27, 2025 All Progressives Congress Governorship primary without stiff opposition.
Adedayo, an APC leader in Moba Local Government, boasted that Governor Oyebanji, has no strong opponent that can rock the boat, contrary to what was being portrayed on social media platforms, by adversaries.
The former commissioner spoke in in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, predicting landslide victory for the governor.
Adedayo, who spoke copiously about the governor’s chance, clarified that the presence of heavyweights politicians of Ekiti APC extraction at the governor’s submission of the nomination form in Abuja, further buttressed his electrifying acceptability within the party.
He saluted the APC leaders for shaming the critics, who have been touting existence of deep-seated hatred and alienation against Governor Oyebanji with their presence, and for displaying extreme solidarity during the form submission at Muhammadu Buhari’s House, APC headquarters in Abuja.
Adedayo described the love for Governor as organic among the party members and the entire Ekiti populace, which he said had riled the opponents and fueled the malicious online campaign against the governor, by trying to create atmosphere of chaos and hatred.
The former commissioner advised those stoking the ember of division and acrimony within the APC to eschew such unwholesome tendencies and cooperate with the governor after emergence to push APC to victory in the June 20,2026 election.
“Every discerning Ekiti man knows that Governor Biodun Oyebanji has no strong opponent in the APC primary and even the major election coming next year.
“With President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, Dr Ayodele Fayose, Engr Segun Oni and most importantly, the Ekiti people showing love to him, victory is certain at all levels of these elections.
“They said Governor Oyebanji has lost relevance in APC, but all the APC high profile leaders, including the Senators, House of Representatives members, Ekiti State House of Assembly members, local government chairmen and ward chairmen, all present at the grandiose occasion marking the submission of the nomination form by the governor in Abuja.
“Lies can’t travel far and it has a short lifespan. Their lies on social media are beginning to fizzle out and Ekiti people have realized that the governor’s traducers are neither on ground, nor pose any threat, but only exist on social media where they spew out their concocted narratives”.
Adedayo appealed to party members to begin aggressive mobilisation and deliver all the 177 wards to the governor in the APC direct primary mode to elect the governorship flagbearer on October 27.
He stated that this is the best way to send a signal to those nursing a pipe dream of hijacking the ticket through the back- channel that their mission has been aborted.
