Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has expressed satisfaction with the decision of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the South.
Mohammed, who is the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, told journalists on Tuesday that he willingly gave up his ambition in support of the party’s zoning arrangement.

“I’m very satisfied with the resolution because I’m part of it, from the arrangement, strategy, and delivery,” he said.
According to him, the decision, taken at the PDP National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State, was aimed at sustaining unity and fairness within the party.
“It’s an all-inclusive decision for us to sustain the existing zoning formula in the party offices and to zone the presidential office to the South-South so that we can have some sanity, understanding, and unity,” Mohammed added.
The governor stressed that politics should not be driven by personal ambition but by sacrifice, party discipline, and national interest.
“Politics is not about personal interest, it’s about self-actualisation within the framework of party decisions, manifesto, and national development. Everything is predicated on sacrifice, not self-interest. Power comes from God,” he said.
He assured that the PDP Governors’ Forum, National Working Committee (NWC), and the Board of Trustees (BoT) would continue to work together to make the PDP the preferred choice of Nigerians in future elections.
