The media office of former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has dismissed reports linking him to the formation of a new African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition alongside former Rivers State Governor, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi.
In a statement signed by Mallam Ahmad Sajoh, Head of the Fayemi Media Office in Abuja, the team said it found no credible evidence to support the alleged comment attributed to Amaechi, which has been circulating on social and digital media.

According to the statement, no video or reputable news report exists to confirm that Amaechi made the claim. It added that in an era where false or distorted statements are often attributed to public figures, the office would not be drawn into engaging with “manufactured controversies” aimed at creating division or profiting from misinformation.
The statement stressed that Dr. Fayemi remains a committed leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, noting that he has repeatedly affirmed his loyalty to the party both within the state and nationally.
It also recalled that Fayemi has publicly endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for re-election on the APC platform, describing this as proof of his continued commitment to the party.
While acknowledging that Dr. Fayemi maintains friendships and political conversations across party lines, the statement said such engagements do not amount to defection. It further noted that if Fayemi were ever to leave the APC, he would announce it himself.
The media office explained that speculation over his political allegiance may have been fuelled by his reduced public presence, due to his engagements as a visiting professor at King’s College London and founder of the Amandla Institute. However, it added that at the state level, he has remained visible, attending APC caucus meetings and backing the governor’s second-term bid.
The statement urged the public to treat any news about Fayemi with caution, especially when such reports originate solely from social media.
