The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has increased the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, across its retail outlets, with the new price now pegged at N955 per litre.
This marks a N65 increase from the previous price of N890 per litre.

The new pump price has been confirmed at several NNPCL-owned stations in Abuja, including outlets along the Kubwa Expressway, Wuse, and other parts of the Federal Capital Territory.
Similarly, the new price adjustment has taken effect at NNPCL stations in Kogi and Nasarawa States.
The development follows an earlier increase in prices by independent petroleum marketers and filling station operators in Abuja over the weekend, who adjusted their pump prices to between N950 and N971 per litre.
Industry sources say the move was triggered by the upward review of the ex-depot price by Dangote Refinery, which recently raised its petrol loading price to N858 per litre, up from N820.
The hike has sparked fresh concerns among Nigerians over the rising cost of transportation, inflation, and general hardship, especially as households continue to grapple with high living expenses.
As of press time, the NNPCL has not issued an official statement on the development.
