Hon. Olusola Fatoba Pledges Continued Support For Constituents, Recounts Achievements

Fatoba who is the Chairman, Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values at the House of Representatives, while addressing newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Friday, said their basic assignment at the House as Lawmakers is to make laws for the growth and betterment of the citizens as well as the development of the country.

He however stated that hospitality has equally become part of their responsibilities going by the various demands they get from the people they are representing.

The Lawmaker who explained that he has been able to secure jobs for twenty five members of his constituency besides other empowerment programmes that he has done for his people, added that he would love to meet with the youths who are willing to go into farming.

According to him, they would be put in a group, promising to also facilitate a loan, seedlings and agricultural implement for them to ensure they are able to stand on their own without having to depend on politician who has a lot of pressure on him or her.

He noted that it’s not possible to secure employment for everyone or empower all, therefore the youths should think outside the box and see how they can help themselves. The lawmaker equally urged people in general to always be patient with anybody in elective position as serving people is not always an easy task.

Fatoba, who has been very compassionate about the welfare of his constituents, pointed out that it is only when people are healthy that they can be called on to come and vote for a particular candidate which according to him was why he embarked on the recently concluded medical outreach in Ado-Ekiti, which he promised to continue in other constituency areas on the date yet to be announced.

Among several other achievements of Honourable Sola Fatoba are; the bills moved for establishment of Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery in Ado-Ekiti, National Rice Production, Processing and Research Institute, Igbemo Ekiti, Root Crops Production and Research Institute, Igede-Ekiti, and bill to amend the Nigeria Correctional Service, to establish a trust fund for the reformation and rehabilitation of inmates to promote successful reintegration into the society.

Others include; the ongoing Olorunda interlocking road project, block of classrooms at Igbemo, renovation of Area Health Centre, Drainage and Grading of Idi-Aagba, Oke-Epa, and Ijadu Farmsteads as well as seven lockup shops at Iyin-Ekiti Market.

While thanking his constituents for their unwavering support, Honourable Fatoba also appreciated his party leaders, particularly the Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji for giving him the opportunity to serve his people.
