FULL LIST: Oyetola Inaugurates Adeyeye-led NPA Board, Tasks Members on Strategic Reforms

The inauguration ceremony, which took place in Abuja, is part of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the marine and blue economy sector under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement released by the minister’s office, Oyetola charged the board to concentrate on providing strategic policy guidance, while refraining from interfering in the agency’s day-to-day management, in line with the provisions of the NPA Act and Public Service Rules.

“Today, I had the honour of inaugurating the Governing Board of the Nigerian Ports Authority, a critical step in advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for institutional reform and economic renewal through the marine and blue economy,” the minister said.

He added, “The new board is to focus on strategic policy direction while maintaining a clear boundary from day-to-day management. Sustained harmony between the board and management is key to achieving our shared goals.”

Oyetola congratulated the board chairman, Senator Adeyeye, and all appointed members, urging them to bring innovation, discipline, and a strong sense of national service to their new responsibilities.

Responding on behalf of the board, Senator Adeyeye thanked President Tinubu and the minister for the opportunity to serve, assuring them of the board’s readiness to deliver on its mandate.

“We appreciate the confidence reposed in us and we assure you that we will do our best,” Adeyeye said.

Senator Adeyeye’s appointment was initially announced in July 2023 by President Tinubu.

Other members of the newly inaugurated board include Hon. Olabanji Olawale Olateju, Hon. Amirudin Tukur Idris, Barr. Kelechi Igwe, Ekpebide Ebi-Erin Daniel, and Dr. Mercy Ilori, who represents the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

Also on the board are Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar (Executive Director, Engineering and Technical Services), Engr. Olalekan Badmus (Executive Director, Marine and Operations), and Ms. Vivian C. Richard Edet (Executive Director, Finance and Administration).
