2023 general elections has came and gone. Meanwhile, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita assisted the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State to made a good fight which is highly commendable. Though, it is painful and difficult moment for his lost in reelection bid back to the Senate, and this is very understandable because to come this far in an election of this significance requires a whole lot of ingenuity. And Senator Ahmad Babba have demonstrated a great deal of enthusiasm, confidence, and resilience. That is very applaudable. Kudos to him for producing two PDP House of Representatives Members Elect in Daura Zone, namely; Ismail Dalha-Kusada of the Kankia/Kusada/Ingawa Federal Constituency and Salisu Yusuf Majigiri of the Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency.
Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita represented a new banner of hope and sweet dreams of thousands of his supporters, and he did not disappoint. He fought good combat. A historic fight. And he will be remembered for his sacrifice now and in the future. The love from his support based is organic, and it might not be unconnected to the achievement recorded as member of the 9th Senate and is an affirmation of People’s conviction in his capacity to lead them to the promised land.
Tragically, and just like the last time, his dream of becoming a Senator suffers another upset. But Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita will remain a champion of our democracy. And an inspiration to many. His aspiration is a contemplation of a determined heart whose focus on success is definite. Though he lost at the poll, he will remain a hero to many. He is the new phenomenon. A new canopy of expectancy and the sunlight of possibility. His loss is tragic to his supporters, but in a political contest, only one person wins. Even though the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) won the War, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita lost the battle based on bribery.
That said, and politics aside, I want to proudly congratulate Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita for putting up such great exertion and I pray this drudgery will never go in vain but will be able to reconcile the hearts of the people and speed up a day when all and sundry in Katsina State will be able to join hands and live together as brothers and sisters. Hopefully 2027 all Katsinawans will sing with sincere joy the arrival of a new possibility. Kaita is a warrior and an Icon.
