NNPC Shuts Down Port Harcourt Refinery

According to a statement released on Saturday by NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Femi Soneye, the maintenance exercise will commence on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

“This scheduled maintenance and sustainability assessment will begin on May 24, 2025,” the statement read. “It is part of efforts to ensure the refinery operates efficiently and in line with global standards.”

Soneye noted that NNPC is working closely with the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and transparent process.

He also assured Nigerians that further updates will be shared through the company’s official platforms, stressing NNPC’s commitment to sustainable energy security.
