Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of U.S. President Donald Trump, has hinted he may consider running for the presidency “maybe one day.”
He made the comment on Wednesday during a panel discussion at Bloomberg’s Qatar Economic Forum in Doha, where he was asked whether he would be interested in succeeding his father as president.
Though he initially laughed at the question, Don Jr. responded, “It’s an honour to be asked and an honour to see that some people are OK with it… You never know.”
The 47-year-old businessman and Executive Vice President of The Trump Organisation, which he co-manages with his younger brother Eric Trump, has been a strong advocate of his father’s “America First” and MAGA political ideology.
In March, a report by U.S.-based outlet Mediaite suggested he was seriously considering a presidential run in 2028—a claim he denied at the time. However, his latest remarks have left the door open.
Speaking at the forum, he said, “I don’t know, maybe one day, you know, that calling is there.”
Don Jr. also praised his father’s influence on the Republican Party, saying, “I think my father has truly changed the Republican Party. I think it’s the America First party now — the MAGA party, however you want to look at it.”
Although President Trump no longer holds an executive position in the Trump Organisation since his election in 2016, he has retained ownership of the company through a trust managed by his sons.
