United States President Donald Trump has thrown his support behind Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Israel’s October 27 election, declaring that the Israeli leader would not disappoint his supporters if re-elected.
Trump announced his endorsement on Sunday through his Truth Social platform, describing Netanyahu as his preferred candidate for another term as prime minister.

“Please let this Letter serve to represent my Complete and Total Endorsement of Bibi Netanyahu in his upcoming Race for Re-Election as Prime Minister of Israel. BIBI NETANYAHU WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!,” Trump wrote.
Netanyahu, who has served as Israel’s prime minister for several terms and remains a central figure in the country’s politics, welcomed the endorsement in a message posted on X.
“Thank you, President Trump, for your tremendous support and for our work together. Together we will complete the mission!” Netanyahu wrote.
In his endorsement, Trump praised Netanyahu’s leadership and described him as “a Great Warrior Prime Minister”, highlighting their cooperation during the conflict involving Israel, the United States and Iran.
The conflict, which began in late February with a major bombing campaign, has continued as Iran retaliates. The disruption of energy shipments through the Strait of Hormuz has also raised concerns over global energy supplies.
Trump argued that Netanyahu’s continued leadership was important to Washington’s efforts to confront Iran’s government. He said the United States could be left to handle the confrontation without Israel’s current prime minister.
Referring to Iran’s longstanding hostility towards Israel and the United States, Trump cited slogans directed at the two countries and warned against a change in Israeli leadership.
“If Israel has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so,” the US president said.
Trump also described Israel as a partner expected to work closely with Washington, pointing to the support the United States has provided to the country.
“This is the kind of Partner that the United States of America is demanding of Israel, a Country for which it has done so much,” he added.
The endorsement comes as Netanyahu seeks a fresh mandate in an election expected to shape Israel’s political direction and its approach to the conflict with Iran. Trump’s public backing places the US president firmly behind the incumbent as Israeli voters prepare to decide the country’s next government.
