The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), Ekiti State Chapter, has celebrated World Tourism Day 2026 with students of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere-Ekiti.
The celebration, held at the university campus, was aimed at inspiring the next generation of tourism professionals to drive innovation, creativity and sustainable development in the sector.
According to ATPN, the students represent the future leaders of the tourism and hospitality industry in Nigeria.
The association said the engagement provided the students with practical, hands-on experience in their areas of specialization, including digital content creation, tourism promotion, storytelling, photography, videography, social media engagement and the application of Artificial Intelligence and other digital technologies in tourism and hospitality.
ATPN noted that the practical exposure was designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional industry practice, while equipping the students with valuable skills for future careers and entrepreneurial ventures.
The association encouraged the students to embrace technology, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship to become active contributors to the transformation and development of tourism in Nigeria.
“The future of tourism is in the hands of the younger generation. Let us inspire, empower and prepare them to lead,” ATPN stated.
