The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the June 20, 2026 Ekiti election, Dr. Wole Oluyede, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, vowing to mobilise PDP supporters across the 16 local government areas of the state in a grassroots, door-to-door campaign for the President.

Oluyede, who also pledged support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration, made the declaration on Tuesday at a political gathering in Ado-Ekiti the Ekiti State capital, appealing to President Tinubu to continue to support Ekiti on development and political representation.
He said Ekiti people were ready to reciprocate the President’s support for the state.

Reacting to the development, Governor Oyebanji commended Oluyede for setting aside political differences and demonstrating political maturity and commitment to the interests of the state. He described Oluyede as a brother and friend whose relationship with him predated current politics.
Oyebanji said the cooperation between them should serve as an example to politicians across Ekiti and urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and PDP to work together for the peace and development of the state.

He appealed to APC members to cooperate with PDP supporters in the mobilisation for the 2027 presidential election, including joint meetings and rallies where necessary.
The Governor said he was particularly grateful that the June 20 governorship election was peaceful, noting that neither he nor Oluyede campaigned for violence, and that no Ekiti indigene lost his or her life because of the contest.

He said the development aligns with the vision of the founding fathers of Ekiti State anchored on justice, equity and unity, stressing that political differences should not destroy the bond among Ekiti people.
