… As CMD Says Salaries Paid in Full Since Jan 2024, Promotions Up to Date, Welfare Top Priority
The Management of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, EKSUTH, Ado-Ekiti, has refuted allegations of staff welfare violations levelled against it by the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, MHWUN, describing the claims as baseless and unfounded.
In a statement by Rolake Adewumi, Head, Corporate Affairs, EKSUTH, the CMD, Prof. Kayode Olabanji, said there was no iota of truth in the allegations making the rounds against the hospital’s administration.
Prof. Olabanji clarified that all staff of the hospital have received their full salaries without fail from January 2024 to August 2026.
He further stated that despite the implementation of new tax regulations, no staff member experienced a reduction in take-home pay.
“Salaries are being paid fully and as at when due. Other statutory benefits have also been included. Staff welfare has been, and will continue to be, a top priority of this management,” the CMD said.
On the issue of staff promotion, Prof. Olabanji noted that the exercise has been conducted regularly.
He disclosed that the 2026 promotion exercise has been concluded and implemented across all cadres.
The CMD commended the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, for his consistent support to the hospital.
He said the increase in subvention to EKSUTH under the current administration has been promptly disbursed to meet operational needs and staff obligations.
“Governor Oyebanji has been very supportive to the hospital in all areas. All funds received, including the increased subventions, have been disbursed without delay,” he stated.
Prof. Olabanji described most of the other allegations raised by the union as unfounded, insisting that the management remains committed to industrial harmony and the wellbeing of workers.
He reiterated that the hospital’s priority remains the delivery of quality healthcare services to the people of Ekiti State, while ensuring a conducive working environment for staff.
