Members of Grace Covenant Centre, Ado-Ekiti, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, The Gideons International, the Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria, GOMAN, and the Ado Varsity Christian Union, AVCU-NIFES, converged on Sunday, August 30, 2026, to honour Professor Felix Makanjuola Aderibigbe, retired Professor of Mathematics and renowned spiritual mentor, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

The well-attended celebration brought together former students residing across Nigeria and representatives of alumni chapters in the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada, who participated virtually via livestream.

Speaking on behalf of the organizing committee, representatives announced two landmark presentations to commemorate Prof. Aderibigbe’s decades of service to academia and the body of Christ.
An endowment fund of ₦10,000,000 was instituted in the name of Prof. Aderibigbe to promote academic excellence at Ekiti State University, EKSU.
Under the scheme, the best graduating student in the Department of Mathematics will receive a ₦1,000,000 cash prize at every convocation ceremony for the next ten years.
The organizers further stated that in consultation with Prof. Aderibigbe, a specific course within the Department of Mathematics that holds personal significance to him will be designated as the basis for the award throughout the ten-year period.
The second presentation was a brand new Toyota Venza SUV, gifted to the celebrant by his former students and mentees.
The organizers described the gesture as a practical expression of appreciation for Prof. Aderibigbe’s sacrifices, mentorship, and consistent leadership in both academic and Christian ministry circles over the years.
In an emotional response, Prof. Felix Aderibigbe and his wife, Prof. Mrs. Esther Aderibigbe, expressed profound gratitude to the alumni and faith communities for the honours.
They stated that witnessing the success and global impact of his former students remains the greatest reward for his years of academic labour and spiritual investment. The couple prayed for the continued unity and prosperity of the institutions and ministries that partnered to celebrate him.
The event concluded with prayers and declarations led by senior ministry leaders from CAN, PFN, The Gideons, and GOMAN. They invoked God’s continued strength, sound health, long life, and grace upon Prof. and Prof. Mrs. Aderibigbe as they advance in service to the university, the church, and society at large.
The celebration was marked by testimonies, musical renditions, and goodwill messages that reflected the wide reach of Prof. Aderibigbe’s influence as an educator, mentor, and Christian leader.
