The Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Aminu Alkali, has returned to the state capital, Jalingo, after spending nearly four months away reportedly due to medical treatment.
Alkali arrived at the Danbaba Suntai Airport, Jalingo, around 1:40 p.m. on Sunday aboard a chartered aircraft. His return came quietly, as journalists were not notified ahead of time, and no official media team was on ground to receive him.
Sources revealed that the Deputy Governor was initially flown to Abuja for medical attention before being transferred to Egypt for further treatment. The specific nature of his illness was not disclosed.
“We only heard he was back after he had arrived. There was no formal announcement or briefing,” said a reporter attached to his office.
Alhaji Alkali currently has no press secretary, making it difficult to obtain direct information about his health status or future engagements.
However, Mr. Emmanuel Bello, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Digital Communications, confirmed the Deputy Governor’s return but did not provide further details.
