Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has declared that the state will be inhospitable to criminal elements, assuring residents that his administration is committed to the protection of lives and property across the state.
The Governor gave the assurance on Saturday, May 31, 2026, shortly after a meeting with the Commander, 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Lokoja, Brigadier General Kazeem Umar Sidi, whose operational area covers Kogi and Ekiti states.
Governor Oyebanji said the meeting was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security collaboration and ensure that criminal activities are decisively addressed. He stressed that his government is fully prepared to stamp out criminal elements and maintain peace, law, and order in all parts of the state.
“Ekiti will be too hot for criminals. We are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the safety of all residents. Government is working assiduously, round the clock, with security agencies to guarantee your protection,” the Governor said.
He urged residents not to entertain fear or panic, and cautioned individuals in the habit of raising false alarms or spreading fake news of fictitious attacks to desist from such mischievous acts.
Governor Oyebanji maintained that Ekiti remains one of the safest states in the country and assured that all necessary measures are being put in place to sustain the prevailing peace and security.
