FG Declares Public Holiday For Workers Day

This was announced in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who conveyed the message, called on Nigerians to embrace peace as a foundation for national development and economic progress.

He praised Nigerian workers for their dedication and sacrifice, describing them as the backbone of the country’s achievements and global recognition.

“There is dignity in labour. The commitment we show in our duties plays a major role in building our nation,” the minister said.

He also urged workers to adopt innovation and improve productivity in their various sectors, saying this would help raise the standard of governance and ensure all Nigerians benefit from the country’s resources.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo assured the public of the Federal Government’s continuous efforts under President Bola Tinubu to secure the lives and property of all citizens and foreigners residing in Nigeria.

He wished all Nigerian workers a peaceful and joyful Workers Day celebration.
