FCT Election: ADC Floors APC in AMAC Unit

Results from Polling Unit 076, Sani Abacha Estate in Wuse Zone 4, showed the ADC polling seven votes to beat the APC, which secured two votes, while one ballot was rejected. Only 10 votes were recorded at the unit, reflecting low turnout.

The polling unit is where the Abuja Municipal Area Council chairmanship candidate, Dr. Moses Paul, cast his ballot in the election.

Reacting to the development, Paul alleged that some of his party’s agents were intimidated in parts of the council and linked the low voter turnout to movement restrictions announced by the FCT authorities.

According to him, the turnout fell far below expectations, which he attributed to confusion surrounding the restriction directive. He described the situation as unusual, saying he had lived in the council area for about four decades without witnessing a similar development.

While commending electoral officials at his polling unit for what he termed professionalism and adherence to due process, the candidate claimed that reports reaching him indicated that ADC agents in Takum Shara and parts of Kabusa ward, including Dogongada and Shereti, were allegedly threatened.

He further alleged that some agents were warned of dire consequences, adding that such actions were aimed at discouraging voter participation and influencing the electoral process.

Paul also raised concerns over alleged vote buying in parts of the capital city, describing the practice as criminal and unacceptable.
