By Ayodele Abere

The State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi made this known while interacting with members of the Online Media in his office in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital.

He said the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise has been decentralized to the ward level to make it more accessible to eligible residents who are yet to register. Adding that the registration exercise will run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., including weekends.

“We urge all eligible residents who are yet to register to take advantage of this opportunity to register and exercise their right to vote,” said he.

The REC also appealed to journalists to partner with the commission in ensuring peaceful and credible elections in the state, and urged media practitioners to refrain from publishing unverified information that could inflame political tensions.

Omoseyindemi assures residents of the Commission’s preparedness to conduct free, fair, and credible elections as he calls on all stakeholders to comply with established electoral rules and regulations.
