A yet to be identified man was found dead on Thursday morning at Tosin Aluko’s Garage, along a main street in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred early in the day, when residents discovered the lifeless body tied at the roadside. The discovery immediately attracted attention from passersby and residents in the area.
According to an eyewitness, the man was allegedly beaten and restrained before he died. The source claimed the incident appeared to be a form of punishment, though the exact circumstances remain unclear.
Another resident who said he knew the deceased alleged that the man had earlier posted a message on a school groups platform, which drew reactions from members of the group. However, the connection between the post and the incident has not been officially established.
Police officers later arrived at the scene and evacuated the corpse using their patrol vehicle.
The area was briefly controlled to allow for preliminary investigation.
