The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has paid a congratulatory visit to Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim following the Federal High Court judgment affirming him as the presidential candidate of the Accord Party for the 2027 general election.
The visit comes after the court dismissed preliminary objections in the suit and ordered the relevant electoral authorities to recognise Hashim as the duly nominated presidential candidate of the Accord Party.

Sowore, a pro-democracy activist and presidential contender, congratulated Hashim on the legal victory and the resolution of the dispute surrounding his emergence as the party’s standard bearer.
The meeting brought together two presidential candidates with long-standing backgrounds in Nigeria’s pro-democracy movement and political activism.
Hashim, in his reaction to the judgment, had expressed gratitude to the judiciary, his supporters and stakeholders in the Accord Party, while calling on all factions within the party to reconcile and unite to build a stronger electoral organisation ahead of 2027.
He said the Accord Party is positioned to be competitive in the presidential, governorship and National Assembly elections, stressing that the 2027 contest will be determined by the country’s economic and security realities rather than assumptions based on previous election outcomes.
