Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday for a one-day working visit, where he commissioned key infrastructure projects and commended the Ekiti State Government for its development strides.

The Vice President’s aircraft landed at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport, Ado-Ekiti, at 10:24 a.m. He was received by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Deputy Governor Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, members of the State Executive Council, and other dignitaries.

First on the itinerary was the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone at Ijan Road, Ado-Ekiti. The project, a Special Agro-Processing Zone, is designed to drive innovation, technology, and agribusiness investment in the state.
Vice President Shettima later commissioned the new Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Ado-Ekiti. He described the facility as a boost to the Federal Government’s anti-corruption fight and a demonstration of commitment to accountability and transparency.
Speaking at the events, Governor Oyebanji said the projects align with his administration’s six-pillar development agenda, particularly in knowledge economy and security. He thanked President Bola Tinubu and the Vice President for their support to Ekiti State.
The Vice President’s visit marks his second official trip to Ekiti State in 2025. He had earlier visited the state in June 2024 to inaugurate projects and engage with stakeholders.
