The United States has delivered military equipment to Nigeria in support of the country’s ongoing security operations and to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation.
The delivery took place in Abuja on Tuesday, Jan. 13, according to a statement released by the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) via its official X handle, @USAfricaCommand.

In the statement, the U.S. said the military supplies were provided to assist Nigerian security forces in meeting current operational demands amid persistent security challenges in parts of the country.
“This delivery supports Nigeria’s ongoing operations and emphasises our shared security partnership,” the statement said.
The development highlights the continued collaboration between Nigeria and the United States in addressing security concerns, including insurgency, banditry and other forms of violent crime.
The United States remains a major security partner to Nigeria, providing military assistance, training, intelligence sharing and logistical support aimed at strengthening regional stability and countering terrorism.
