Activities are gathering momentum ahead of the wedding ceremony of nine children of the Minister of State for Defence, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, scheduled to take place in Abuja.
Details of the ceremony emerged following the circulation of an invitation card on social media, which features the minister’s photograph and outlines plans for the event.

Information on the card indicates that the wedding will be held at the Abuja Central Mosque on February 6, with proceedings expected to commence at 1:30 p.m.
The names of the children slated for the ceremony are Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muh’d, Nana Firdausi and Farida.
Providing clarification on the development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesperson in Zamfara State, Mr Yusuf Idris, confirmed that the nine children consist of five males and four females.
Idris explained that preparations for the event were already at an advanced stage, noting that he is part of the organising committee working to ensure a hitch-free ceremony.
“By the grace of God, the wedding will take place at the Abuja Central Mosque on February 6,” he said. “The children getting married are five sons and four daughters, and all arrangements are progressing smoothly ahead of the date.”
