A tragic mid-air collision between two helicopters in Finland on Saturday has resulted in multiple fatalities, according to police.
The crash occurred west of Helsinki around midday, and authorities are still working to confirm the exact number of victims and identify the passengers.
Local media reports say the helicopters had departed from Estonia and were carrying a total of five individuals—three in one aircraft and two in the other—reportedly businessmen.
Witness Antti Marjanen told Iltalehti that one helicopter struck the other during a maneuver: “One of them dropped like a stone and the other one more slowly. I didn’t hear any sound.”
Authorities have not disclosed the cause of the collision, and investigations are ongoing.
