The Olubadan-in-Council is scheduled to begin formal deliberations on the appointment of Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Monday, August 4, 2025.
The meeting, which will take place at the newly built Olubadan Palace in Oke-Aremo, Ibadan North Local Government Area, is expected to commence by 11:00 a.m.
A notice of the meeting, issued by the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, was made available to journalists in Ibadan on Thursday.
The meeting comes shortly after the conclusion of the official 21-day mourning period for the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the 43rd monarch of the ancient city.
All High Chiefs of Ibadanland are expected to be in attendance, including the Olubadan-designate and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, who is reportedly returning to Ibadan this weekend. He has been receiving sympathisers at his Lagos residence since the demise of Oba Olakulehin.
The upcoming deliberations are seen as a critical step toward the formal approval and public presentation of Oba Ladoja as the next Olubadan, in line with the traditional succession process of the ancient stool.
