Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa has published her HIV test result in a bid to counter persistent rumours alleging that she is living with the virus.
The speculation resurfaced after a content creator, Olaoluwa Segun, posted a video naming Amusa among five Nigerian actors purportedly infected.
In a response on Instagram on Tuesday, Amusa dismissed the claim as false and malicious, recalling that she had first declared her HIV-negative status in 2019 as part of a public awareness campaign. She explained that her earlier post was aimed at encouraging people to know their status, not an admission of infection.
The actress also threatened legal action against Segun for spreading unverified information.
Sharing a photo of her latest HIV test result, Amusa reaffirmed that she is not infected and urged Nigerians to prioritise routine testing.
“I still feel the need to encourage individuals to get tested and know their HIV status. It is better to know your status so that you can guide yourself and save others too,” she wrote.
