Oyebanji Congratulates Afenifere Leader Fasoranti on 100th Birthday

Chief Fasoranti, a renowned educationist and elder statesman, turns 100 on Monday, May 11, 2026.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji said the Afenifere leader deserves to be celebrated for his enduring integrity, forthrightness, and selfless service to Nigeria and the Yoruba nation.

The governor said it was a mark of divine favour that Fasoranti attained the centenary milestone in good health and peace of mind.

He described Pa Fasoranti as a Nigerian patriot, nationalist, moral compass, and icon of democracy who stood in defence of ordinary citizens during critical periods in the country’s history.

According to Oyebanji, Fasoranti contributed significantly to national manpower development as a teacher, school principal, and education policymaker before venturing into politics.

The governor noted that the centenarian remains a committed disciple of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and has consistently upheld the ideals and values of Afenifere as handed down by his mentor. He added that Fasoranti has been a consistent advocate for Nigeria’s unity and indivisibility.

Governor Oyebanji wished Pa Fasoranti more years of fruitful service to the nation, saying the government and people of Ekiti State join his family, friends, and admirers in celebrating the landmark birthday.

“On behalf of the government and good people of Ekiti State, I congratulate our dearly beloved leader, Baba Fasoranti, on this awesome milestone. Our prayer is that he will continue to enjoy God’s immeasurable grace and strength as he continues to serve humanity,” the statement said.
