The Ekiti State Commissioner for Capacity Development and Training, Prof. Patrick Tedela, has disclosed that over 1,500 civil servants have so far benefited from various training programmes organised by the Ministry under the Biodun Oyebanji administration to improve efficiency and service delivery in the State Public Service.

Prof. Tedela made the disclosure during the opening ceremony of a two-day training programme for Executive Officers (General Duties) in the Public Service, noting that about twenty series of similar trainings had been organised for workers across the State.
The Commissioner commended the State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for prioritising capacity building for the workforce, describing the gesture as a reflection of the administration’s unwavering commitment to continuous human capital development within the Public Service.
He explained that Executive Officers occupy strategic positions in the service as custodians of vital personnel records, including appointments, promotions, training and retraining, discipline, staff welfare and exit management.

Prof. Tedela urged participants to ensure that the training translates into practical and actionable outcomes capable of strengthening personnel administration and improving overall service delivery in Ekiti State.
Earlier, the Head of Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Office of Establishment and Service Matters, Mrs Janet Ajibola, said the training would improve service delivery and enhance participants’ capacity in handling official documents, correspondence and records with accuracy, timeliness and adherence to rules and due process.
She charged participants to effectively apply the knowledge and skills acquired from the training in the discharge of their official duties.

In his opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Capacity Development and Training, Mr Bamidele Arowosola, stated that the training, themed “Effective Personnel Management in the Public Service: Scaling up Officers’ Skills for Enhanced Service Delivery,” was carefully designed to improve the competence and effectiveness of participants.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Civil Service Commission, Mrs Bukola Ogunlade, encouraged participants to make the most of the opportunity in order to improve their performance and guard against sharp practices and dishonesty in the Public Service.
Resource persons at the training, including Mr Sunday Adebayo and Mr Bayo Opeyemi, expressed optimism that the programme would broaden participants’ knowledge and better position them for enhanced service delivery.
Some of the participants, including Ologuntoye Oluwagbemi of the Ekiti State Traffic Management Agency and Folu-Oni Jumoke of the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, commended the State Government for organising the training and pledged to apply the knowledge gained to improve their performance at work.
