NABTEB Releases 2025 NBC/NTC Results

Announcing the results on Thursday in Abuja, NABTEB Registrar/Chief Executive, Dr. Aminu Mohammed, said 92,875 candidates registered for the examinations conducted nationwide from June 16 to July 17 in 1,892 centres. Of this figure, 89,621 candidates (96.50%) were graded.

He noted that this year’s enrolment represented a 37.08% increase compared to 67,751 candidates who sat for the 2024 edition across 1,708 centres.

Candidates sat for 16 Engineering Trades, 7 Construction Trades, 9 Miscellaneous Trades, 4 Business Trades, and 16 General Education Subjects.

On subject performance, Dr. Mohammed highlighted a major improvement in Mathematics, where 81,172 out of 85,805 candidates (94.60%) passed. In English Language, 79,575 of 85,476 candidates (93.10%) passed, while 5,901 (6.90%) failed.

He explained that the 2025 results surpassed last year’s outcome, where 44,000 candidates (65.34%) obtained five credits and above including English and Mathematics, while 62,235 (92.42%) scored five credits and above with or without the two core subjects.

Dr. Mohammed stressed the need to strengthen technical and vocational education to tackle youth unemployment, urging policymakers to prioritise skills acquisition.

On examination malpractice, he disclosed that 435 candidates were involved in 516 cases, a sharp drop compared to previous years.

A gender breakdown showed that 57,651 (62.07%) of the candidates were male, while 35,224 (37.93%) were female.
