How Tinubu Mentored Me, Sanwo-Olu — Fashola Reveals

The former Minister of Works said Tinubu entrusted them with responsibilities during his tenure as Lagos governor, a foundation that has shaped their growth and leadership journey.

Fashola made the disclosure during the launch of the Omi Eko project held on Saturday in Lagos.

According to him:

“I must thank the governor who, along with me, about twenty-something years ago, were young men being mentored by another governor who is now president today.

“He entrusted us, and this is the story of our journey. Of course, Lagos has been busy lately on the waters, from the E-One to Omi Eko and who knows what’s next.

“Kudos to the government led by Sanwo-Olu and the entire team. Let me also say that you could not have handpicked better partners, especially the French Development Agency.”

The Omi Eko project, an initiative of the Lagos State Government in partnership with the French Development Agency (AFD), aims to enhance water transportation across the state. It includes the development of new ferry routes, construction of modern jetties, and the introduction of environmentally friendly passenger boats to ease traffic congestion on Lagos roads.

Fashola commended the Lagos State Government for its continued investment in sustainable urban transport, describing the initiative as a testament to Lagos’ tradition of innovation and continuity in governance.
