The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, EKSU, Ado-Ekiti, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, has expressed appreciation to staff and students for the successful hosting of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, during her visit to the university at the weekend.
Senator Tinubu was at EKSU for the commissioning of the university’s ICT Experience Centre.

Speaking on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, during the June edition of the university’s monthly prayer meeting, Professor Ayodele commended teaching and non-teaching staff across units, departments, faculties, directorates, and colleges, including the EKSU Band and other registered associations, for their efforts in ensuring a hitch-free event.
The Vice Chancellor also appreciated the Governor of Ekiti State and Visitor to the university, His Excellency Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for his continuous support for the institution and for appointing a competent Chancellor. He said the impact of the governor’s support is evident across the university.
Professor Ayodele particularly lauded the leadership of the four staff unions — Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU; Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, SSANU; National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT; and Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU — for mobilizing their members in large numbers to welcome the First Lady.
He reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a harmonious working relationship with staff, which he described as cooperative and supportive. He assured workers that staff welfare remains a top priority of his administration.
“The recent visit of the wife of the President and the commissioning of the ICT Experience Centre have further boosted the image of the university and justified its position as the best state university in Nigeria,” the Vice Chancellor said.
He appealed to both teaching and non-teaching staff to continue to promote the image of the university and support efforts toward a stable academic calendar.
