Dangote Refinery Increases Fuel Price

The National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi, disclosed this in an interview on Friday.

Maigandi said the refinery has also resumed the sale of petrol after temporarily suspending distribution last week.

“The new ex-depot price of petrol at the refinery is now ₦850 per litre,” he stated.

This fresh adjustment represents a ₦30 hike and implies that marketers and retailers will pay more to lift products from the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery.

Following recent supply challenges and price fluctuations, several petroleum marketers, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), had raised their pump prices in the Federal Capital Territory to as high as ₦955 per litre earlier in the week.

However, the prices were later reviewed downward to ₦900 per litre in some outlets.

Despite the reduction, many filling stations, including Ranoil, AA Rano, and Empire Energy, were still selling between ₦950 and ₦955 per litre as of Friday in Abuja.
