An FCT High Court sitting in Abuja has struck out the defamation suit filed by the Federal Government against the Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Justice Chizoba Orji struck out the case on Thursday following an application by the prosecution to discontinue the matter.

At the resumed hearing, prosecution counsel, Aderonke Imana, informed the court that the Federal Government had decided to withdraw the charges against the senator.
Counsel to Akpoti-Uduaghan, West Idahosa (SAN), subsequently applied for the suit to be struck out and urged the court to order the release of all documents earlier seized from the senator and her sureties.
The prosecution did not oppose the application.
In a brief ruling, Justice Orji struck out the suit, discharged the sureties, and directed that all documents taken in the course of the trial be returned to the senator and her sureties.
