CIPA Urges Ekiti Voters To Collect PVCs As INEC Continues Ward Level Distribution

In a statement issued on Thursday, CIPA National Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ayodele Abere, said the PVC remains the only means for eligible citizens to exercise their civic rights and avoid disenfranchisement on election day.

Earlier in the week, INEC Ekiti State Office, under Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi, announced that PVC collection would commence at registration areas and wards across the state from Tuesday, June 2, 2026, to Monday, June 8, 2026.

Thereafter, collection will continue at the respective Local Government Area offices from Tuesday, June 9, 2026, to Thursday, June 11, 2026.

The commission urged all registered voters who are yet to collect their PVCs to do so within the stipulated period.

INEC described the PVC as more than an identification document, noting that it is the instrument for democratic participation and the constitutional means through which citizens exercise their right to vote and shape the future of their communities and the nation.

The commission reminded voters that civic responsibility extends beyond registration, describing PVC collection as a personal responsibility and a critical step toward active participation in the electoral process.

INEC reaffirmed its commitment to conducting credible, transparent, and inclusive elections. It called on stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups, and the general public to assist in sensitizing eligible voters to participate in the exercise.
