The summit which was held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the EKSU main campus, drew over 2,000 students, faculty members, tourism practitioners, and government representatives. It was held under the theme “Reimagining Tourism and Hospitality: Sustainability, Innovation, and Growth.”

Chairman of ATPN Ekiti State Chapter, Dr. Olusayo Oluwakemi Olowookere-Ayodele, said the university’s support made it possible for the association to organise the event and expose students to practical, industry-based learning.

“The Management of Ekiti State University supported ATPN to host this summit, and that support created a platform for our students to engage directly with practitioners and gain hands-on experience. This kind of backing helps us prepare students who can solve real problems and contribute meaningfully to the tourism and hospitality sector,” she said.

The summit featured practical sessions on tour guiding, event management, e-business, cultural packaging, and creative arts. Outstanding students received awards, mentorship placements, and internship opportunities from industry partners.

ATPN Ekiti State Chapter thanked the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Babatola Ayodele, the Department of Tourism Studies, and all stakeholders for their contributions to the success of the event.

The association said the university’s support had strengthened its commitment to developing the next generation of tourism and hospitality professionals in Ekiti State and Nigeria.
